Lately everything in fashion seems to be getting longer and looser. Case in point, two recent jumpsuits I bought have enough fabric between them to make floor-length curtains for the three windows in my bedroom. (I am only slightly exaggerating.) I like the new long and loose, but sometimes I need a break. So I’m going short. Not a micro mini–those days are over, but inches above the knee, yes.
The image above has been in my fave photo folder for a couple of years and I still think it’s relevant (and the one of Carine Roitfeld below). I like the mix of a masculine button-down with a flirty mini. It tones down the look and makes it more sporty—which to me is more sexy. Flat sandals. A long gold necklace. I bought the Etoile Isabel Marant skirt below and like the fit (it has sold out almost everywhere in the green—there is also black–so act fast if you’re interested.) It will be in constant summer wardrobe rotation.
