Since it’s a long weekend and you might be raring to go through your closets, I decided to post the second and final videos back-to-back. If you’re new to this, The Wardrobe Project is my zero-waste closet clean-out strategy I created after going through an epic closet clean out myself. In these videos, I continue with lists including a Two Week Clothing Diary, Splurges (you can find out why I sold my Birkin bag, no regrets, and how to get over the pain point of “but I spent so much money on it” many of us face), followed by Regrets and Lazy Go-To’s, Collections and Wishes. Once you complete all of these lists, you should have a solid foundation of what makes you happy, what works and what doesn’t. Then, you can begin the process of weeding out all the extraneous, learn to live with less and sharpen your style. I hope you enjoy the journey! I’m doing this again myself, on a smaller scale since I have pared down a lot. You can find all the videos on Instagram, Video One, Video Two and Video Three. You can also watch them (below) on YouTube.

Getting closer and closer to closet goals 🙂 and Looking forward to getting the “where to send it” address.
I love the realistic tone to your lists which I’m proud to say mine has resembled as I pare down! The “what you’ve worn for 2 weeks” is a toughie for me because I own a Wellness studio and, as the lead provider, I wear pilates clothes to work.
Have a great weekend!
Sounds like you can skip the two week clothing bit unless you feel your exercise wear needs an update. Stay tuned!
Thanks for two more very “on point” videos. Because of your videos and ethics, I’m putting together a painting uniform…something I think will work, and possibly even be cool, with paint stains etc…but still makes me feel stylish enough that I could run out and go for lunch in it. Also thinking of some splurges that don’t quite work anymore, but have some sentimental value…and getting the courage up to let them go, because they actually bother me sitting unworn in my closet.
Love a paint uniform!
Jennifer, I love that you’re apparently wearing the same jewelry in the second video as you are in the first. Can you tell us what those pieces are? I’m a bit of a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, so I rotate the same pieces. They may not always be trendy, but they’re special to me. The whole jewelry thing just totally befuddles me.
Ah….so….stay tuned! Not saying a word yet, but new launch this April, fingers crossed!
Good morning! I have paired down and become crystal clear on what my style is. The challenge now is that when I find pieces that I want to invest in, my size is frequently sold out. I try to purchase very thoughtfully which often entails sleeping on it before buying, only to find the next day my size is now gone. Or I order it in my size and when it comes, I realize I need a different size and by then they are all gone. I would love to get a few items on sale but by the time they are on sale, the same issue is there. I am also growing increasingly uncomfortable with ordering two sizes and shipping items back. Oh the precious resources wasted in that method! And I am wasting far too much time searching the internet. I live in Seattle and sadly we have lost many of our outlets for well crafted, minimal items. (Nieman Marcus, Barney’s, Totokaelo, etc. and what the flagship Nordstrom stocks is a bit of a joke)
Any and all suggestions welcome!
Hi Keri,
I don’t have an answer that you probably want to hear! Sadly, it is hard to buy anything most places in-person these days (including New York), specialty boutiques are disappearing and other places are closed. If this is a continuing issue for you, I would do the following: buy it before sleeping on it (as long as you can return it) and you should just bite the bullet and buy two sizes. It uses less resources for them to ship two items together and you to return one, than it does to buy, return, buy again and still possibly return. Sadly, this is where we are with online shopping. One thing you can do if your size sells out quickly, is also just to keep checking back on that item every few days for a month or so. People return things and it might be available once the initial rush wears off. Hope that helps!
That does help! Thank you Jennifer for all your insight and your genuine voice.
