I don’t travel for work like I used to so I have been slow to embrace buying “travel” related things–whether it is TSA approved travel sizes of my regular skin care items, which I finally invested in last year (seriously so worth it), or a travel uniform, which I’d hadn’t put much though into until now because of my trip next week to Jackson Hole. Honestly, I haven’t wanted to spend the money, but updating my skincare to what I actually use, made me start to rethink what else makes sense.
My two most important purchases I made this week? A pair of (expensive) Nili Lotan joggers and a pair of black, oversize buckle Birkenstocks (and a pair of socks in my bag for the flight). Comfort and looking pulled together is my goal, and I will wear the joggers on the weekends. On top, one of my favorite t-shirts which always come in my suitcase–either a silk-blend Frances de Lourdes tee, or a Kule stripe. I haven’t found a travel tote with a computer slot that is also good looking (if you have please share!), but this canvas one from The Row, is less expensive than all-leather and also works for everyday. I do have this Kendall Conrad pouch which I always travel with and either fill with my iPod and earbuds or jewelry, which I keep stashed in my tote. Sunglasses (natch) and I wish I was super pulled-together a chic scarf like this one from Toteme.
What goes over everything? It depends upon the time of year, sometimes it’s a simple cashmere cardigan, or a vintage Levi’s denim jacket or leather one.
