My next podcast will launch on Monday (fingers crossed), in it, the interviewee mentioned a favorite book, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, which has been turned into a movie starring Cate Blanchett (it opens on August 15th).
If you haven’t read it yet (I’m definitely late to the party here) and you want a humorous, yet wickedly satirical read, I highly recommend it. It took me a bit to get into the book, but at some point, things start spiraling at such a frenetic, head-turning pace, it’s hard to put it down.
A little humorous distraction is vital these days. I just hope the movie is as good as the book!
*** Also note, from now on, if I can find a book at a local book seller that ships nationally, such as McNally Jackson in NYC and Powell’s Books in Portland, that is the link I will use. #supportyourlocalbookstore

Can’t wait to see this film. I had to have collarbone surgery in the summer of ’13 and one of my dear friends suggested this as a good “light-hearted, keep your mind off of things” read. Definitely fit the bill! Wonderful to read such a fun book with great characters and good story.

loved this book when I read it a good 5 years ago; really nails Seattle culture It’s laugh out loud funny when we could all use it.
