June is always a busy month with graduations, weddings, the end of school, etc. but there have been some sporadic August-hot days that have me excited for the summer slowdown. I cannot wait for the days when the only plans I have scheduled are reading, maybe playing cards and deciding what fresh fruits and vegetables I feel like preparing and will it be rosé or a daquiri at cocktail hour. While I actually have two rather big projects going on this summer, which I am very excited about and will share at some point, the days I have off will be fantastically quiet, almost to the point of being dull. I excel at being indulgently lazy. I also think doing almost absolutely nothing for long periods is important. It’s when my mind reboots and often the best ideas spring to life.
Here’s to the summer slowdown. I can’t wait to do nothing at all. You?
