CAP Beauty’s Cold Weather Musts + Going Bi-Coastal

The West Village all-natural beauty boutique/spa CAP Beauty, created by Kerrilynn Pamer and Cindy DiPrima (read their profile here), might be small, but the thinking behind it is expansive and the founders recently opened their first West Coast outpost in Fred Segal in LA. If organic beauty and health is your thing (and it should be), CAP is the kind of place where the knowledgeable staff can help you navigate through the myriad of skin (and body) changing products they carry. And Cindy and Kerrilynn are non-stop. There is a book coming soon too. Here, Cindy shares why LA and her recommendations for getting your body ready for colder weather.

Why did you want to open a CAP outpost in LA?
We’ve always had a deep love for Los Angeles. Not only do we love the light, the warmth and the focus on healthful living, but our community there is so welcoming and open. Its a city of forward thinkers ready to embrace radical health. Needless to say, that’s a world we want to be in.

How do you think the LA market is different than your NYC market? How is it the same?
Health and wellness seem more like an assumption in Los Angeles, a way of life, a given. That said, natural product are probably more readily available in LA, so we have to do what we can to stand out. We’ve always believed that this comes from a combination of our edit, our specific point of view, and our CAP Beauty products. Our mission is to inspire all to embrace this way of life. Both our New York and LA customers are curious, engaged and willing to go deep. And its our job to meet this curiosity and fuel the fire.

Inside Fred Segal

What kind of unique opportunities are available to you and your CAP followers with the LA store?
Our LA store is inside the new Fred Segal. There we are exposed to many who may have never heard of us, who may not be shopping (yet) for naturals. We see this as a great opportunity to share the power of naturals and to inspire a whole new audience to approach beauty through high vibrational living.

As we transition from summer to fall and changes in the weather, what products that can help us look and feel our best?
Fall is a time for grounding down. As the temperature drops and heaters turn on, our skin seeks more hydration. We believe this is both an inside and outside job. Hydrating masks, rich creams, balms and oils can be layered on and we should also consider adding hydrating superfoods and warming teas. Some of my favorite picks right now are…..
