Because I’m most interested in celebrating (and hopefully inspiring) entrepreneurial women, on occasion, I want to share profiles/pieces I find interesting. This week there have been two. First, a Wall Street Journal feature today on former Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief and now Hearst’s Content Chief Joanna Coles. Coles, who says she’s “an overnight sensation 30 years in the making,” embraced social media advances early on (she is on the board of Snapchat) which ultimately turned some print losses into high-tech wins. We need more women like her in top media positions. Then, in the NY Times Sunday business section there was a profile on Sheryl Palmer, CEO of home building company Taylor Morrison. Home building is certainly not an area of interest for me, but Sheryl’s interview and advice ring true across the board. With an annual $5 million plus salary, she knows what she’s talking about.
