If you don’t already know, I am a huge fan of April and her game-changing organic skincare products, Vintner’s Daughter, which I use religiously. (If you haven’t listened to my podcast with her on She’s Got Flair, I highly recommend it. Sorry no link, please find it in your podcast app. And if you want to learn more about her products you can also read my interviews with her here, and here.) April grew up on her family’s Napa Valley vineyard, where she is currently hunkered down with her family (could be worse). Here she answers my Quarantine Questionnaire.

Online rabbit hole: 1stdibs, Chairish and any number of online auction houses.
New Insta discovery: I was feeling a bit too much pressure from social media, so I have not spent much time there.
Daily ritual you practice: Meditation, gratitude and loving kindness practice.
Daily ritual you’ve abandoned: Baked goods. I used to go to a cafe next to my office every day for gluten free coconut cake. I miss that ritual.

Something you love to do that you can share with others: I love making baskets. This year I saved a bunch of grape vines and I am teaching my girls how to weave them.
How are you looking at your business differently? I thought I was building a business committed to producing the finest skincare in the world for the last 7 years, but what I have really been doing is far more powerful, and I never would have discovered it without the quarantine. We have been building a community of passionate, creative, brilliant people who have been able to develop a more healthy and positive relationship with their skin through our more-with-less philosophy.
What do you miss most? Hugging friends, a proper cocktail, and watching my kids play at the park with their friends.
Where will you go on your first post-pandemic trip? Any Aman property that will take me.
What do you hope the new normal brings? A renewed respect and greater gratitude for the preciousness of community and our planet.

Wonderful interview and I just ordered the book. I do use Vintner’s Daughter and have for a few years. I appreciate that you’re not ignoring the times we’re in and these interviews are uplifting and so human.
