This Thursday, Yayoi Kusama’s Festival of Life, opens at three David Zwirner galleries–two across the street from each other in Chelsea and another uptown. According to Zwirner “The exhibitions will feature sixty-six paintings from her iconic My Eternal Soul series, new large-scale flower sculptures, a polka-dotted environment, and two Infinity Mirror Rooms in the Chelsea locations, and a selection of new Infinity Nets paintings uptown.” It sounds wonderfully extensive. Plus no advance tickets necessary, which means long weekend lines, but at least you can be assured of getting in. I plan on going many times. Immersing oneself in art that is exuberant and energizing sounds really good right now.
