Goals, Inspirations + Thought Provoking Reads to Start Your Week.
- WANT: Kate Moss’s De Gournay Bathroom. The new Architectural Digest has a short feature on Kate Moss’ collaboration with bespoke wallpaper company De Gournay. The paper and her bathroom, are gorgeous. #bathroomgoals
- READ: WSJ Magazine Goes to the Venice Biennale. In the new issue photographer Mario Sorrenti shoots fall fashion and some of the artists of the Biennale with striking results. I always like it when fashion meets art.
- SEE: Nick Cave and James Turrell at MassMOCA. My older daughter and I are big Turrell fans and one of our favorite art exhibitions ever was his Breathing Light at LACMA. So we could wait to see his similar light-focused immersive exhibition Into the Light (if you go there are timed tickets, make a reservation). It didn’t disappoint. The Nick Cave exhibition was fantastic too. (See below.) Worth a day trip from NYC or spend the night. The only sad thing is, beyond the walls of the museum, the town of North Adams does not seem to have benefited from all the tourism and is rather rundown.
- LISTEN: Tame Impala, Currents. I preface this by saying I’m am in no way up-to-date on music, but knew a couple of songs from this Australian band. Then my daughter and I went to a last minute concert they held a couple of weeks ago and we both can’t stop listening to the album. (The concert was pretty fantastic too–amazing laser show.) It reminds me of electronic bands I liked in the 80s. Favorite songs: Eventually, The Less I Know the Better, and ‘Cause I’m a Man.
