Recently a friend commented on an Instagram image I had put up over the summer of Jane Fonda wearing a denim shirt while grocery shopping, that sent her on a mission to find the perfect denim shirt. This in turn, got me thinking how timeless and classic the right denim shirt can be. It’s seasonless and can be layered and goes with just about anything. It fits into TFI’s buy better, buy less ethos, because it has lasting appeal, however, the one difference here is that the real classics from Levi’s and Wrangler–both under $50, might be the better bet. (My friend is buying them from the men’s department and washing them multiple times before wearing which is also a great idea.)
Levis X Wardrobe NYC shirt, $163; Gucci lipstick, $42; Jennifer Fisher hoops, $350; Wrangler shirt, $49; Levi’s shirt, $45; Acne boots, $560.

A chambray/denim shirt sounds like a great secondhand purchase – more sustainable and broken-in.

Jane was and is still to this day a beautiful woman! I cannot believe she is going to be 83 this year.
Great lineup of denim shirts! I’ll be purchasing one of them for sure.
