For my trip to Italy I packed several long, loose, dark dresses which were great in Venice and Rome, but didn’t work at all in sun-drenched Positano. I also had a gorgeous white Isabel Marant broderie anglaise dress but it seemed more appropriate for drinks at Le Sirenuse than going back and forth to the beach, on boats etc. So I popped into a store and bought a short, affordable broderie anglaise skirt. It was a life-saver. I wore it with a tank over my bathing suit, with a t-shirt and white sneakers to Pompeii, with a black t-shirt and sandals. It is the first white skirt like that I can remember buying. Now that I know how versatile (and cool temp-wise) it is to wear, perhaps I need a longer one too.
