I am soon heading out on a long overdue vacation with my husband to Harbour Island in the Bahamas and I’ve been pulling out my spring and summer clothes to see what I have that works, and what needs an update. I am not a big fan of pastels and still stick to a neutral palette of white, navy, black, army green and shades of tan and brown, because I actually find those colors sexy with a tan.
Where do I splurge on vacation clothes? I always have an Eres bathing suit, they last forever. I have the one piece shown here (which I bought last year) and the bikini version that is at least 6 years old. Where do I spend less money? Beach cover ups. They get dingy from sun tan lotion etc. and I prefer an oversized shirt like this Muji tunic. Shorts with cotton poplin shirts (like the Toteme ones I recently posted on) for day and night, easy linen and cotton dresses for post beach and dinner, a sexy jumpsuit (it’s the one thing I bought for this trip–mine is from Malia Mills) and always a silk slip dress and my Wrangler denim jacket I’ve had for decades. I like this new Bembien leather bag which works for the beach and traveling, and always my Dezso by Sara Beltran choker, which I’ve been building up pendant by pendant over time (the one shown here from Net-a-Porter is similar).

I love everything you have chosen especially the jumpsuit. Do you think it could be stitched up to be less plunging/revealing?
