It’s a really hard time to think about posting a lot right now. I’m trying to navigate what feels appropriate, what doesn’t, and if I even have the energy (it waxes and wanes). So you’re going to get random thoughts for a while (and possibly rather random in frequency).
- I just ordered a pair of sweatpants (something I really only wear to walk the dog) from Richer Poorer. I found them while going down Internet rabbit holes on New York magazine. They have pockets, a must for me. Once I get them I’ll let you know how they are.
- I’m waiting for hair dye from Madison Reed to touch up my getting very gray roots. My hair colorist suggested them (a bit reluctantly and I don’t blame her), and they have a questionnaire you fill out so you can get the right shade. I started coloring my hair in high school, and regularly help my daughter maintain her shade of whatever pastel (currently blush pink) she’s into, so I am relatively deft at this process. I will still look forward to returning to the salon.
- I’m taking a break from painting my nails; my toes haven’t seen the light of day since I can remember. But who’s going to see them now? We will see how long this lasts. It’s good to take a break but eventually I’m going to need to feel polished (which involves wearing polish) and a bit pulled together.
Stay safe. Stay healthy! xxx J

Hello! Just curious what brand dye you use for your daughter’s hair? Any great websites with tips on how to do it? I was thinking of indulging my daughters in this wish. Thanks!

Hi Amy,
My daughter goes to a professional colorist first to get her hair completely bleached from medium brown to almost white, then they put color over it. The color fades rather quickly so we only reapply the color. I am not sure you can achieve this without the first process and it is very permanent. Not sure if this helps. x J

Please post as much as you can! We are all stuck at home, slightly bored, and welcome a break from the never ending news. I check your site first thing every morning….

Leaving the nails without polish is a tough one, but its a great break from a not-so-great routine!

Love your posts!
We don’t necessarily need to shop now – it can be something to ponder, as we plan our highly edited and functional wardrobes. It’s a lovely escape.
I have never coloured my own hair and am a tad apprehensive about the process. I know there are various ways to touch up your roots so will be looking into that.

A timely post-funny how we are at the point where hair is on our minds. Not high maintenance in general, but the hair… I know our stylists will understand when they have to clean up our DIY. Yes good time to give the nails a rest.
