I love. Every. Single. Thing. about this new WSJ Magazine shoot with Carolyn Murphy, styled by Geraldine Saglio and photographed by Lachlan Bailey. (Ok, I don’t want a real snake necklace thank you. A gold one, absolutely.) It is a gorgeous reminder that paired down basics such as tank tops, khaki shorts, lightweight trench coats, the right maillot, a billowy white blouse, worn-in jeans, one good pair of strong sandals, and a glint of gold jewelry, really do work when the heat turns up. I am only sharing some of the photos—I don’t want to spoil the whole thing. You’ll find some of my interpretations at bottom.
From left: Elizabeth and James tank, $95; Vanessa Bruno shorts, $198; Sophie Buhai necklace, $775; Isabel Marant sandals, $465; Matteau maillot, $300, Prada shell trench, $1030.
