I have had white shirts on my mind of late, so thought I would repost this page of women who inspire, plus a couple of links to current favorites.
A good white shirt is a warm weather must. I always have a few different styles to rotate depending upon my mood–ruffles, straight-forward button downs, boho peasant styles. Due to their more fragile nature (a major magnet for stains, yellowing, etc.), they might need replacement more often than other items in your wardrobe. Here, some favorite classic white shirt moments (I’ve posted them before, but that’s the beauty of a classic). If you’re in need of an update, some of my faves include: this Nells Nelson (which you can wear side-buttoned a la Carolyn Bessette); this Hommegirls men’s style; this feminine COS blouse; this splurge Saint Laurent linen blouse; this Acne Studios with a cinched blouson back detail; this Apiece Apart short-sleeved version; this oversized style from The Row; this eyelet-trimmed blouse from Nili Lotan; and this upcycled men’s shirt with crystal buttons from A Shirt Story.
The very chic unknown woman is the Spanish model Laura Ponte. And she is very chic.
Would love to know what shirt is shown in the top photo? The one with the tab collar.
That is Phoebe Philo when she was designing for Celine, so quite sure it’s Celine.
Ah thanks! It’s gorgeous!
