I love this picture of a young Susan Sontag taken in 72′ by Henri Cartier Bresson. She looks confident, elegant, and completely at ease. Very few women put themselves together like this anymore–in a silk blouse and tailored pants and coat, but I love it. (And loafers to top it all off–100%.) It’s sophisticated in that Katharine Hepburn 40s kind of way. In fact, many movie stars used to dress masculine/feminine–Greta Garbo and Carole Lombard also come to mind.
Below, some elements should you wish to channel your inner Greta or Susan.
