I love this image from the new Fall 2017 Tory Burch show—the feminine dress, the ponytail with a black velvet bow and the earrings—it feels very late Sixties/early Seventies and reminds me of pictures my mom would tear out of Vogue for inspiration (you can guess where I got my fascination with all things style-related).
Why not wear a pair of “Mum-sy” old-fashioned earrings for spring? I definitely think they are better with a light floral or pretty blouse. But you could add them to a very modern outfit. In fact those emerald-studded pearls are Celine. The other earrings I chose are vintage—Chanel, YSL and Seaman Schepps. Of course, maybe you can find a pair hiding in someone’s jewelry box.
Earrings top to bottom: Gold discs, Yves Saint Laurent; pearl and turquoise shells, Seaman Schepps; faux pearl/emerald drops, Celine; gardenia earrings, Chanel.
