If you’ve summoned to courage and strength to clean out your closet this month, why not take the time to assess those basic items that might need replacing? Camisoles to wear under everything (I swear by Uniqlo Airism tanks), perfectly simple (and luxurious) tees, good cotton underwear (sure I like lacy sometimes too, but I still believe in old-fashioned cotton), a pair of sweatpants you can wear out of the house (if you must) and sweatshirt. Also these are all good pieces for spending lazy cold-weather days at home reading, baking, or whatever it is you like to do, which is perhaps, nothing at all. But now is a good time to throw out anything border-line ok and start the new year fresh. Some of my favorites below.
clockwise from top left: Uniqlo Airism tank tops, $9.90; Baserange bamboo bralettes,$125; James Perse hoodie, $175; Frances de Lourdes silk and cashmere Martin t-shirts, $218 each; Cosabella briefs, $55 for pair; James Perse track pants, $135 (on sale).
