Running around isn’t what it used to be, and at this point I am happy to dress up to go to the grocery store. (Luckily museums and galleries are open in NYC so I do get to wander about some.) What will I be wearing now that the snow has almost (!) melted? My Celine trench, a striped sweater, a pair of leggings and loafers. Maybe a scarf too. Believe it or not, I do not own a pair of leggings that aren’t solely for exercise. I am looking for a pair that aren’t too tight, and I think leggings that are slightly looser at the ankle (not baggy, but not skin tight) are more flattering. Many legging styles I see of late, look too long. I’m going to try this J. Brand version and will report back. I have a pair of years-old Gucci loafers which I have started pulling out, but might refresh with a new pair. I love Gravati loafers like those shown here; they are an old-school company that originated in Milan in 1909 with men’s shoes. The shoes are beautifully made, super comfortable (which is something that designer shoes often don’t know how to do), and the last-forever alternative to the trendier ones out there.
Burberry trench, $2020; Khaite sweater, $1520; Rag & Bone masks (set of three), $20; J. Brand leggings, $230; Sophie Buhai hoops, $495; Gravati loafers, $650.

Jennifer the outfit in the leggings link took my breathe away. That spoke to me about exactly how I like/want to dress. I of course have been following your Wardrobe Project and that is what I would pack. Thank you for helping me “sharpen my style”. My next steps are to hire you. ?

That’s a perfect almost spring outfit. Here recently I’ve been craving a 1940’s silhouette. A soft button up blouse, trouser pants, and loafers.

This outfit truly speaks to me; casual yet elevated, and stripes – my favorite! LaLigne does a similar sweater at a more affordable price. The best part is that the formula is adaptable.
