The couture shows in Paris are under way and it must have been slightly chilly in the beginning because the attendees were fairly covered up—many were wearing jeans and blazers. It’s too hot in NYC to wear a jacket now, but seeing these women started me thinking. Besides shoes (like the Dior boots I recently posted on), the #1 item on my fall wish list is a perfect blazer. What color and style doesn’t matter so much as I want it to be a piece that fits well, that I want to wear again and again, and that I have forever.
The blazers on the woman in the photo, below, and in the still life, above, are from Blazé Milano, a relatively new line started by three Italian women who all previously worked in fashion (and met at Elle Italia). Matches Fashion has a nice roundup of their blazers for fall which they just put on the site and are selling out. Sure there will be many more blazers to choose from come September, but if you want one you see now, don’t wait. That said, a good blazer is an investment no matter what your price range, so don’t settle either. Be picky. And patient. The payoff is worth it.
