Continuing my summer essential list–one thing I am never without is a denim shirt. And, even though it’s harder to buy, I highly recommend a vintage one, because worn-in is always better and adding some vintage to your wardrobe is sustainable in every way and good for the planet (and something to get comfortable with if you are a “I only buy new” kind of person).
Ways to wear your denim shirt? Buttoned up and tied at the waist with shorts or pants, over a bathing suit as a beach cover up (I double-denimed on my recent trip to the Bahamas), or as an extra evening layer when it cools down at night. You could add a tank or a T-shirt underneath.
Also know head-to-toe denim is never a bad thing. I found my latest Wrangler denim shirt (see IG for mine and many others) on Etsy (at Sid Vintage). Here is an Etsy link to Levi vintage denim shirts, and another for Wrangler ones. I don’t have enough knowledge on red tab versus orange tab when it comes to Levi’s pieces; just choose a look and a price point that you’re most comfortable with. If you’re new to Etsy my shopping tips are 1) do not buy from Malaysia (no offense to Malaysia but a lot of designer knockoffs come from there) and 2) do buy from someone with lots of feedback and positive comments, preferably with a return policy. However, if you can’t return the item you’re interested in, ask questions before you buy–the good sellers are more than happy to give you all the info you need to make a considered purchase.

Also looks great over a slip dress with flat sandals or sneakers…I’m never without one.

You’ve ticked all of the boxes with this one! My Frank & Eileen denim shirt is a favorite and even my daughters commented on how cool they thought it looked worn open over a tank (and leggings – couldn’t pull it together quite THAT much).
