When I wrote a post last week on shirt dresses someone brought to my attention the one pictured here by Organic John Patrick (it’s called the Rainer dress which I am guessing is named after Rainer Judd, daughter of Donald, because John has a store in Marfa which is Judd territory). The dress comes in many colors, but all are sold out except the one here, however, they are recutting; if you sign up for emails you will get notified when they restock. (There is also this shirtdress by another brand from his store which is nice.) John has always made a good-fitting slip dress and this dark navy one is beautiful. The fabric isn’t super light so it is not ideal for really hot days but perfect for evening. John’s fabrics are sustainable, which should also make you feel good about purchasing one. I am also a fan of B Sides Jeans (founded and run by two of the nicest women) and they have a great affordable denim line, but also rework vintage pieces like these bandana-patched pair. The vintage pieces are more expensive, but sometimes there is nothing better than having a one-of-a-kind pair of jeans.
Organic by John Patrick slip dress, $365 and shirt dress, $345; B Sides vintage jeans, $325; Dezso by Sara Beltran earrings, $1210; ATP Atelier sandals, $250: Isabel Marant belt, $160.

That was me – I’m a big fan of John’s cashmere sweaters and well done cotton pieces. I met him at his shop in Amagansett and I confess to fan-girling on him!
