I like the idea of a pleated, full-leg trouser and think we will be seeing more and more of them in the next few seasons. Of course they aren’t the easiest thing to pull off. First, the pant silhouette requires a fitted waist, otherwise you get lost with all that material. Then a simple fitted top, perhaps a blazer over, but I think one that is fitted and almost cropped, so you don’t look like a giant rectangle. A pointy-toed heel or boot or sneakers. My favorite pant style are the Nili Lotan below, but they are as voluminous as they come. It’s a commitment. But Nili is continuing the baggy theme into next Spring and my eye is starting to adjust. Sometimes it’s fun to have a statement pair of pants in your wardrobe as opposed to all basics.
