I never write about award show fashion or the red carpet, because ball gowns just aren’t my thing. But watching the Golden Globes last night and the overwhelming support shown by all for the fledgling new women-created, women-focused organization Times Up Now by almost every person wearing black or lapel pins was impressive and exciting. (Like Oprah’s speech….) And when Big Little Lies garnered so many awards and Saoirse Ronan and Greta Gerwig both won for Lady Bird (go see it if you haven’t), it felt like women were not only finally getting the acknowledgement they deserve, but it was the realization that when we work with each other incredible things happen. If 2017 was the year women got angry, 2018 will be the year women take charge and create a paradigm shift in how we are treated, perceived and the tables we want a seat at. I feel optimistic and inspired and last night felt like a thrilling harbinger of things to come.
