Île de Ré, a small village on the west coast of France has been on my to visit list for a while, and this house located there, owned by Victoire de Castellane, the designer of Dior fine jewelry, is my kind of dream home. It ran in Vogue Paris a few years back, but I keep the pages in my “home” tear sheet folder. I love its simplicity, the mixture of textiles, and the organic elements such as wood and rattan. I find stuffy and pristine summer homes the antithesis of laid-back living, and this house invites you curl up on the couch and read a book, or sit outside and sip a glass of Chablis. It is also the kind of house I could live in year round. If only….
