After my last post discussing cleaning out your closet and how that might allow you afford what you really want, I received requests from readers for more affordable versions of the pretty expensive Max Mara version I had my eye on. I know everyone cannot or simply do not want to spend that kind of money on clothes but still want to look good. I often feel the same way. What other belted coats are equally elegant? This Ganni shorter version at $340 and a longer version at $370, (which I tried on at their new Soho store and really liked), the Acne Studios Carice coat was my original choice and comes in a few colors ( in navy and on sale at Net-a-Porter for 40 % off at $870, in camel at Saks for $1450 and brown on MyTheresa for $1015). Shopping tip: If you can’t find size and color you like on a site, just Google that style name and see where else it is sold; plus with all the rolling sales, you never know where the better bargain will be.
Other belted coats I like include this one from Zara, Stella McCartney, and if you can go for it, the one from The Row above, which is a little more than the Max Mara camel hair style.
