Yesterday I posted this image (photographer unknown) of Lucy Chadwick, the gallery director of Gavin Brown Enterprise, and many followers asked the designer of the blue shirtdress she’s wearing. Sadly, I don’t know (though she has a propensity for Phoebe Philo Celine). I felt I owed to everyone (myself included because I obviously love it) to find some options. My favorite is the most affordable, the Cos striped dress top left, mostly because I think it has the most modern proportions. (See link below). Plus these dresses are about as versatile as they come–unbutton the bottom and wear with pants, dress them up, dress them down. Plus if you’re like me, when summer really kicks in, I appreciate something that is loose fitting but offers a bit of coverage from the sun’s strong rays.
Dresses top row: Cos, $115; Jil Sander, $773; Zero Maria Cornejo, $595. Second row: Vince, $297; Vince, $345.
I wonder if she’s wearing a men’s Charvet sleep shirt as a dress. A lot of chic women wear them in the summer.
What a great idea and of course now I want one!
there’s a store in LA that’s about as cool as they come that makes a shirt dress similar to the above – https://rthshop.com/collections/sale-shop/shirts. It looks like they’re sold out now, but I think they re-make it pretty regularly.
Thanks Samantha. I meant to go there on my last trip. On my LA to do list!
I am thinking that HC has it correct, and since I am one to take on a challenge (even if I will never look like Lucy in that shirt,) I found a source (fairly made) in Canada for something quite similar…

Love it for summer.
