‘Tis the season for being on-the-go and these are elements of a comfy, warm and still cool-looking runaround outfit. Perhaps you already have a favorite turtleneck and easy-to-wear leather pants (these are on sale). If not, you can’t go wrong adding items like these to your wardrobe. Don’t forget a packable bag for everything from wrapping paper to presents.
Toteme cape, $1450; Isabel Marant sweater, $595; Theory pants (on sale), $840; Nike sneakers (on sale), $45; mesh Baggu bag, $12; Falke socks, $45: C. O. Bigelow musk handcream, $16.

Love everything! Currently, obsessed over The Row’s Toba belted poncho. I did order a pair of marked down Theory leather pants, slightly cropped and flared..hope they work out.

I love all of this, especially the leather pants. Yet I can’t bring myself to purchase, I just feel weird these days about leather and fur. Any suggestions for a pant that is similar but not the real thing? They elevate a look beautifully. FYI I’m certainly not here to lecture and there was a time not too long ago that I wouldn’t have had any qualms about a leather pant, but now I feel uneasy.
Thank you!

It is perfectly ok not to want to buy leather. That said, personally I am on the fence about most vegan leathers because many are made partially of polyurethane, or plastic, which may be more animal friendly, but not necessarily planet friendly because it isn’t biodegradable. It is so hard to navigate and understand all the environmental issues and impact our purchases have these days, which is mainly why buying fewer better things is my continued mantra. In your case, I say stick with natural fibers and thank you for being thoughtful!

And just like that, today’s new drop at Matches has these Stella McCartney pants made from visose.
