A continuation of last week’s Flair Five–what’s inspiring me and on my mind this week.
1. (And 2.) I just finally finished Joan Juliet Buck’s The Price of Illusion, which I wrote about a while back. Instead of moving on to more new releases I’m backtracking. For something juicy I’m reading The Girls by Emma Cline and for something more serious, Hanya Yanagihara’s A Little Life. Hanya’s book has been on my to-read list, and now that she is the new Editor-in-Chief of NY Times T Magazine, I’m even more interested
3. Summer album currently on repeat, Proper Ornament’s The Foxhole. The perfectly mellow soundtrack for long road trips, picnics and afternoons at the beach. (The advantages of having two teenage daughters who are definitely more “plugged in” than I am.)
4. These simple and elegant Manolo Blahnik flat shoes, now available at The Line. For those of us who live in jeans and blazers.
5. I love this picture of actress Zara Prassinot from an event during the Paris couture. A white dress, a fanny pack and a scarf at her neck is an unusual combo, but it works. It proves thinking outside the box, in the slightest way, can have refreshing results.
