Lately, I’ve been more-than-usual obsessed with certain looks of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy–partly because they have a simple 90s vibe which a lot of designers are referencing on some level lately (I never thought you should revisit an era whose style you lived through, but when it’s this classic…) and because of what I mentioned, the looks are timeless. The Row’s newest mule feels very much in that vibe, as do Khaite’s and Toteme’s. Then, I am a bit obsessed with top handle bags. I had a black Prada shiny spazzolato leather handbag with handles that I got at around the time period of Carolyn’s photo, at the then newly opened Barneys on 17th. It was such a major splurge for me, and I wore the bag out. I like the newer options from Khaite and Anine Bing (weirdly the latter the best, maybe because of the price point). What to wear with these “throwback” accessories? An oversized sweater and leggings by day, and the cozy, sexy Frances de Lourdes dress by night.

Oh, that Toteme sweater…so tempting!

Love everything! The bags are particularly appealing. Reminds
me of a black patent Calvin Klein Collection bag I once owned from the 90s

I had a mini black Calvin bag too! I know, I think it’s a nostalgia thing. Which is ok in my book.

Right-on, Jennifer! Classics are always appropriate and never passé. While I’m not into ladylike bags, I’m all over leggings and an oversized cashmere sweater.

Always! And yes!

I have an inspiration board devoted to CBK. With all the choices, patterns, and extremes in styles I find hers to be refreshing. On another note, mules are a savior for me, for practical purposes. Having a wide toe box and a narrow heel shoes that fit are hard to find but mules do. The round up you have is lovely.

What a good thing to now as far as a shoe fit. And agree 100%!

Love everything in this post! Yet I get so jealous of those of you on the East coast who have the fall and winter to wear these sweaters, etc. Here in LA I resort to having to get the lightest weight cashmeres. I consider blazer & sweater weather a present to me!
