Here’s proof you never know where your elementary school friendships will take you. In third grade Nikki Kule, designer of Kule/lover of all things striped, met Jennifer Bandier, creator of Bandier—a burgeoning retail/online company where fashion, music and fitness intersect, and became friends. Fast forward 30 plus years to today, which is the launch of their first collaboration of exercise and athletic-style pieces.
“This collection reflects how I feel about working out—always having fun and not taking it too seriously,” says Nikki. “I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Jennifer and this was the perfect opportunity. It was a challenge, as I’ve never designed activewear, but I love what Bandier is doing and knew we could create something special together.”

I have been friends with Nikki for years and am not surprised she has been able to translate her quirky, neo-preppy aesthetic into covetable workout wear that stands out from the norm. Who doesn’t want something fun to wear your next SoulCycle class or Saturday morning kid’s soccer game? (Or couch pilates, see below.) I feel like everything is going to sell out in nanosecond. You can buy them online at both Bandier and Kule.
