When Shirin Von Wulffen posted the center image on her IG yesterday (I’ve featured her and her company Bastide on the site here, and here), I immediately recognized it as a James Perse jumpsuit I’d been eyeing (see below). She got the styling right and dm’d me “It feels a bit baggy when you try it on but as soon as you belt it, it’s perfect. And really light linen. I wear it with my YSL belt from the Safari collection Stephano Pilati did.” (She worked for YSL back in the day.) Because I was running errands yesterday and just happened to be near a James Perse store I wanted to try it on, but it is only available online. I did try on this version, which is equally great (and less linen content so fewer wrinkles). Model Doutzen Kroes (right and below) is wearing a Nili Lotan jumpsuit which I have in army green and posted on last summer. Guess what? It’s still available (in white cotton and denim) and it’s on sale. I can’t speak to Carolyn Murphy’s, but it is equally perfect.
A jumpsuit is a good transition piece and kind of the ultimate WFH outfit. It’s so easy, goes with sneakers, slides, even a little heel, can be paired with a blazer or a jean jacket if you need another layer. If you already own one, now might be a good time to put it to use.
