This photo, styled by Vanessa Traina and shot by photographer Benjamin Alexander Huseby for NY Times T Magazine in 2013 is still a favorite of mine. One reason is I have a penchant for burgundy in the summer…with a slight tan and brown leather accessories, it is rich, somewhat exotic antidote to your typical pastels. The other reason I love it is the silhouette: A long skirt or dress that still shows some leg, a roomy sweater belted to give it shape, seems elegant and unexpected. See options below.
Acne Studios sweater, $455; Nili Lotan green satin skirt, $625; Aurelie Bidermann cuff, $234; Elder Statesman burgundy sweater, $815; Frame belt, $185; ATP Atelier sandals, $185; Figue dress, $466.
