Beyond a paler wash and black jeans, one other pant I rely on during the warmer months is a cargo pant. (Above, women who wear them well, from left: Samira Nasr, Rashida Jones and Sofia Coppola in matching pants–I love it, and Lucy Chadwick.) I bought the Nili Lotan Luna pant shown below a few years back and am actually wearing them today. Recently, I added the Rag & Bone version, which is a darker shade and is more “cargo” like. What to wear them with? Everything, treat them like you would a pair of jeans, so button-downs, silk blouses, T-shirts, sweatshirts, stripes, doubled up with a matching top, and every shoe from ballet flats to sneakers to lace-up boots. This is also a place where I wouldn’t spend a lot of money, save it for something else.

Love army green cargo and field pants. Just went to the CofH link and they showed a simpler pair below which I ordered. They’re year round in California.

Wearing my JCrew camo cargos right this minute. Just got two more pair for summer, one from a local boutique and another on amazon. I think my very favorites though are two pair of distressed black cargos I got from the Gap a few years ago. I wish they would bring them back! These will be in constant rotation for months!

I have a pair of Calvin Klein cargos that I bought years ago. Steel blue with a ribbon belt. Love them.

Love cargo pants. Yesterday, I was wearing a pair of C of H that I bought last summer. I also have two pairs from Frame that are great. While I’m a big fan of all things Nili, I don’t believe she finishes the bottoms of the Luna’s. Do you know which pants Rashida and Sophia are wearing?

Thanks to this post I just got a pair from the Etsy shop, Rawson — I was introduced to her shop by Andrea Linnett of I Want to be Her! fame. They have a more military look, but/and, I love them. I especially love how Lucy Chadwick looks in these wonderful images.
