Tina Lutz designs handbags that make me happy. Her Lutz Morris bags are minimalist with just-so details like 24k-gold-dipped chains and hardware that is beautifully crafted and actually works, and come in colors beyond neutrals that are equally enticing, like an Yves Klein blue and the palest lemon. Plus, Tina is one of the loveliest, coolest women I’ve come to know. She is very conscientious about how her bags are made (she won the Sustainability Award from the Fashion Group International last year; kind of major), and she believes in altruism and donates $10 from each sale to EveryMotherCounts. She currently lives in Berlin, but usually visits New York. I miss our studio visits, but love to live vicariously through others who live in places I wish I could travel to now.
What do you love and look forward to about Spring? Any normal spring, my answer would be: traveling to Milan. But since traveling is not an option this spring so far, I do love our cozy family movie nights at home. We take turns picking movies.
Newest favorite Spring purchases: This spring I will only shop in my closet. I have been inspired by you and have been purging my closet and found a lot of beautiful forgotten things that I am excited to wear.

The only thing I have been splurging on are beauty products from Le Pure. I have sensitive skin and do best with products that are completely chemical free. I am so thrilled to have stumbled upon Le Pure. It’s a line that is based on organic plants and minerals, even managing to eliminate all “green chemistry” substances. I am obsessed with Smooth Addiction, a balm made of raw plant lipids which is perfect for my dry skin and to weather the spring cold.
Second obsession is Perfect Illumination. They call it an adaptive organic make-up. I just use a little of it to make it look like a tinted cream. It also provides the skin with a biological and physical sun protection. More importantly, it makes the grey looking lockdown face look glowing.

Something already in your closet you are pulling out now: One of my rediscoveries is a true Helmut Lang navy blazer from ca 1999. The cut and fabric are still perfection!
Fave Spring recipe: My son and I have been cooking different recipes every Monday night. As quarantine is dragging on we are getting less and less adventurous. Right now it is all about comfort foods, particularly soups and different kinds of risottos.
Favorite Spring drink: Aperol Spritz, nothing says spring more than this drink, which looks like a sunset.
Fave Spring smell: Lime blossom, there are countless Tilia trees all over Berlin.
Spring weekend activity: We like to explore the many lakes (there are more than 3000!) in and around Berlin, @takemetothelakes is a great resource.
Key element for being cozy inside your home: Our cashmere blanket by The Elder Statesman is big enough to cover all of us when we have our family movie night.

Latest read: The Glass House by Emily St. John Mandel. When I read the reviews and the back cover I wasn’t sold, but once you are in it – what an amazing read!
Online rabbit hole: Reading books instead of surfing the web.
Daily ritual: My husband and I are so surprised that we have been able to motivate ourselves to do yoga nearly every day since the second lockdown. We couldn’t have done it without @breatheandflow.
Daily ritual you’ve abandoned: Mascara.

Favorite hour of the day: When I close my computer for the day.
Where are you donating your time/money? Since its inception, I have helped raise money for Every Mother Counts through running marathons and donating a transparent $10 from every bag sold through Lutz Morris. EMC was founded by my dear friend Christy Turlington Burns and is dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother everywhere.
How are you looking at your business differently: For Lutz Morris we have always embraced slow and local production in Germany. As a next step we are moving away from seasons as our bags are timeless and not the kind of bags that go in and out of style. Instead we will drop new bags and colors as they are ready.
What do you miss most? Hugging friends.

If you’ve had a chance to travel recently where did you go? If not, what will be your first trip? No recent travels, but just booked a ticket to New York in April!
What do you hope the new normal brings? To live with less and to consume more consciously. #buylessbuybetter
