Happy Easter! Plus, things I’m doing, seeing and going down a rabbit hole with this weekend.
- I am all about watching movies that are set somewhere I wish I could travel to and have good clothes to match, so I’m going to watch A Bigger Splash starring Tilda Swinton, that is set on the island of Pantelleria. Heidi Wynne, who always has the best film recommendations (see her lists for TFI here), posted this yesterday; now I’m dreaming on an Italian summer.
- Looking for wicker and rattan pieces that say summer for the home. Last weekend, it was the glass set from Serena & Lilly. Now, I’m thinking something bigger–Atelier Vime in Provence is always an inspiration, as is Marella Agnelli’s homes (at home, left side of collage). I did buy a small tree that I keep trying out in different rooms of the house, maybe a rattan/wicker planter will be the thing.
- More Italy on the mind with the beautiful home in Rome of Norbert Stumpfl, the executive design director of Brioni, in T Magazine (bottom right image). His interiors are a mix of modern and timeless and he also has a thing for plants (in rattan baskets mind you–heavy theme in this post).
- Salute! It’s al fresco aperitivo time. Yesterday was hopefully the last (quite) cold day until next winter, and I’m ready to get dressed and head to Bar Pisellino in the West Village for a perfect Negroni. Who’s joining me?

I saw The Bigger Splash in a movie theatre before we were going to Italy one summer. Couldn’t rest until I had the Dior mirrored glasses Tilda Swinton wore in the film. Such beautiful clothes…and I love all things wicker.

I can watch this movie over and over for the outfits alone!
