Never underestimate the allure of a woman in a tuxedo. While the holidays aren’t around the corner yet, the way I see it, elegant tuxedo-inspired pieces are more akin to evening basics—pieces that will always be in heavy rotation in your closet because you can mix and match and dress them up or down. You can wear a velvet blazer with jeans for a dinner date or with a camisole and trousers to a black tie event. Perhaps you want one wow piece, such as the YSL bustier, below, or an impeccably tailored have-forever tuxedo jacket and pants from Pallas (also below). A classic pant or skirt will always be a constant go-to piece. If you think it’s early in the season to consider buying evening, note many pieces are selling out. Below, a little bit of everything evening.
