For Spring my favorite makeup is barely there–a fresh dewy face, mascara, and a bright lip. For a long time, I have been relying on an luminizer to highlight my cheekbones and eyes to add to this effect, but I’m shelving it. In it’s place I am adding primer to my Nars tinted moisturizer. I think the result will be more subtle. Being a makeup minimalist I usually can’t be bothered to add another layer, step, product mostly out of laziness. But I let my daughter do my makeup one evening and she used Benefit’s “That Gal” Brightening Face Primer under my tinted moisturizer. It was kind of amazing. That Gal is a pale pink luminescent shade and adding a little bit all over the face gave me an extra glow (plus it had a matte effect around my T zone area). I want to try versions from Nars and Charlotte Tilbury before I decide which I prefer. And it won’t be a daily use product, but on those occasions when I’m tired and need a boost, or want to look that much better.
Benefit’s That Gal Brightening Face Primer, $29; Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonder Glow, $40, Nars Radiance Primer, $36.
