In the cooler months, I like to find a weekend “look” and pretty much stick to it. I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard (honestly ever), but especially on the weekends. I want a classic but still “cool” uniform. One that is just like Jane. She really did, and still does, get it right. Except for a straw bag no matter what time of year, there aren’t any surprises in what she wears per se. Rather she does two things: 1) She sticks to clean, easy pieces and 2) she kind of makes an effortless effort, meaning no sweats (no one did then), often boots and belts; she’s pulled together, but just so.
This is a wonderful post. You translate an icon’s sensibility into vignettes comprised of both high and low, with casual, chic elegance. No one element is out of tune in its interpretation of Birkin, regardless of price point. ????
