Brilliant Slips

The silk slip and bias cut skirt trend shows no sign in slowing down. Last week, both Nili Lotan and Protagonist (above) launched exclusive limited-edition collections of silk tops, skirts and slip dresses in a rainbow of sherbet to jewel tone shades. They are gorgeous. While the Protagonist colors available now are a deep claret, pale gold, and black, the upcoming rich pinks, poppies and pale greens really catch my eye. Nili Lotan is offering her model-favorite slip dress in every color and length one can dream up (see below). I don’t think I would wear a thin strap slip dress on its own, but treat it like a skirt and throw a light sweater or top over it. Of course, you can’t go wrong with basic black either. I just bought a black silk bias skirt from Vince, which I plan on pairing with t-shirts and flat sandals. But the mint green Protagonist dress is very tempting.
