There are certain fall/winter ensembles that never get old, high on my list are a tailored coat and pants with brass button details. It worked for Jackie O. in the 70s and I still love the details of this photo which is a couple of years old (I am pretty sure it is Marie Amelie Sauve, co-founder of Master Mind magazine and BFF of Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquiere). If was an item I would splurge on, it would be coat like the Saint Laurent below. It is a have forever. This is such as effortless look to pull together–all you need is one piece with button-detailing, then add a flash of gold jewelry, perhaps a red nail and the simplest boots. You can never go wrong.

If I lived in a place where I’d get more than a few days or weeks out of a coat, I’d grab that SL one in a minute. So elegant and cool at the same time – perfect.
