Seductive Sheers

I cannot remember the last time I put on a pair of sheer panty hose or even tights for that matter, but there is something so subtly sexy about a wearing sheer black hose. This is something French women do, and have done (see Carine Roitfeld and Anouk Aimee above), so well for years. Like everything else there is a new disruptor in the hosiery category, Heist Studios (Tights Reimagined), which is based in London but is thankfully direct-to-consumer and ships to the US. I bought the 30, their sheer black version, which you can order with two different, and much more comfortable, waistbands. (They are $32 or $36 depending on what you choose, and come in luxurious, yet quirky packaging. They also do opaque.) It is still too hot in NYC to wear them (or anything Fall-like for that matter), but the quality seems as good as other high end hosiery companies like Wolford. I’m thinking a silk print dress and heels or strappy sandals. Certainly not often, but when the mood strikes.
