Nothing from the recent Spring collections really blew me away, which is probably a good thing, but if I could buy one thing next Spring it would be a peasant dress like those at Saint Laurent (pix on both ends) or Celine (center). A peasant dress certainly isn’t something new, but I love the 70s and something with a bohemian bent, especially when the weather warms up (which it hasn’t even cooled down yet in NYC). It’s also the anti-thesis of all the tailored clothes I will wear for the next 6 months. I especially love the Saint Laurent versions, which look like they have gold-thread embroidery on them, hence they will be far more expensive than I would dare to spend. There will be other versions; there is plenty of time.
